“The famous Chinese artist, acclaimed on the most prestigious stages in the world, chose to perform to the Treviso audience a very demanding programme that ranged from Puccini to Ponchielli, from Giordano to Verdi, and which included great arias from Manon Lescaut, “Sola, perduta, abbandonata”; from La Gioconda, “Suicidio”; from Andrea Chénier, “La mamma morta”; from Don Carlo, “Tu che le vanità” and from Turandot, “In questa reggia”. A selection that, as a whole, has demonstrated the artistic maturity reached by the interpreter. In addition, she paid homage to his country of origin with the beautiful Chinese aria “Pamier, how beautiful is my city”.Hui He showed her voice of precious colour, which is capable both of dramatic and soft nuanced accents. The soprano could easily switch from the verist writing of Chénier, to the sculptural line of the aria of Elisabetta di Valois to the audacious vocal challenge of the Puccini’s “Principessa di Gelo”. As an encore, the melancholic “Ebben ne andrò lontana” from Catalani’s La Wally, a very dear aria to the singer which allowed her to confirm once again her technical mastery and touching expressiveness”.
